floral patriotism

Vintage skirt, t-shirt from UO (similar here), gifted necklace (from my best friend Kristen, similar looking one hereModcloth 'Merry to Carry' CrossbodyRay Ban 'Wayfarer' 51mm sunglasses, BP. 'Trolley' Ankle BootiesMAC 'The Matte Lip' in Whirl.

So basically I have been wearing MAC's 'Whirl' matte lipstick non-stop. I absolutely love it--and it is flattering on ALL skin tones. I found this skirt on Monday while thrifting in Santa Cruz. It reminded me of Topshop! It's super current with its buttons and pockets in the front. The best thing about this skirt? It has short build in underneath. What more could you need? I decided to to pair it with a neutral shirt instead of color-matching a blue or red shirt on top. I totally would've done it for the fourth. but not the 30th! Hehe. I also chopped my hair off yesterday, so that's new. Hope you guys like this look!

My coworker dubbed this look: Western girl on a cruise in the '80s

Happy Sunday, everyone! I got this denim dress at work yesterday (in the Topshop department I work in at Nordies), and couldn't wait to pair it with this scarf that was in one of my mother's drawers. This dress is super comfy, and it has pockets! Dresses with pockets are the best dresses. I'm with my best friend from school now (I'm so happy), and we are eating pie. Everyone should be jealous. Tomorrow I'm hoping to feature a day to night look. Stay tuned.

Biker Boho?

I was a little too excited about my outfit today. This Topshop dress came in the mail a couple of days ago and I couldn't wait to slip into it! Not only is it a beautiful and colorful pattern (floral no doubt, my fave), it has laces on the side that make it extra fun and detailed. However, to rid of any potential side-boob action and make the dress work apropro, I paired it with my favorite faux leather jacket, my favorite pair of booties, and a floppy hat! My co-worker, Daniella took these photos on our lunch break and we kind of had a little too much fun. Check out my most recent photo on my personal instagram (@hanbergerz). Can't wait to share tomorrow's look with y'all... some denim dress action maybe?!

Sweet&Spice

Topshop chili print shirt (now unavailable-sorry!), vintage shorts, Steve Madden 'Comly' gladiator sandal in Natural Snake (Nordies is prince matching--25% off!), Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Take Your Marc' leather crossbody (still available for the Nordies Anniversary Sale!), gifted necklace (thanks to my dear friend, Kristen), earrings from Francesca's Collections (similar here), MAC lipstick in 'Pink Plaid'

So by 'sweet' I mean those adorable shorts... and by 'spice' I mean this chili pepper shirt--hehe! I'm so excited to share this look with you guys. These shorts came from my thrifting spree up in the city this past Monday. Aren't they adorable? As you know I love all things high-waisted so I couldn't wait to pair them with this adorable Topshop shirt that I got ON SALE! Sigh. If only every item of clothing purchased was marked down. I decided to pair these with my new snake gladiator sandals (I'm a sucker for anything snake/python/crocodile in my attempts of being super duper cool), and a necklace one of my best friends randomly gave me that I now wear all the time (I really do mean all the time--I pair this sucker with plaid shirts, vintage dresses... you name it). I spent extra time on my make-up this morning and felt really proud of it because I can never get my wings and my brows even but today they cooperated. Hooray. Hope y'all are having wonderful weekends!

Shout out to my amazing photo editor Wynona! She's the best.

Vintage Feels

Vintage dress, BP. 'Trolley' ankle bootiesModcloth 'Merry to Carry' bag, vintage necklace, BP. ear jackets (similar here), thrifted belt (similar here), Melt Cosmetics 'Shady Lady' lipstick.

I spent Monday in San Francisco, and stumbled into Wasteland, one of my favorite stores on Haight. After digging through almost every rack, I found this 1940s vintage dress, and its label read: Hanna in California--how perfect?! I was thrilled when it fit like a glove. I tried to pair it with some more modern touches, such as my staple Brass Plum booties from Nordies, and a crossbody bag from Modcloth. I've also been obsessed with Melt Cosmetics recently. I'm wearing 'Shady Lady' in these photos, but I also have 'Dark Matter, 'Blitzed', and 'Blow'. Definitely check them out--they're super matte and super fun. Enjoy!

Pink & Blue

American Apparel Chiffon Secretary Blouse (different color here), thrifted skirt, Free People Dark Horse Ankle Boots, hat from Urban Outfitters (similar here), thrifted belt, Spitfire 'Post Punk' sunniesMarc by Marc Jacobs 'Take Your Marc' crossbody bagMAC 'The Matte Lip' in pink plaid.

I spent yesterday with friends from school exploring San Francisco. Funny how I've lived here my whole life and barely spent anytime up in the city! I'm fairly certain we stepped inside every thrift store on Haight--I found some fun pieces that I'll be featuring later this week. I really love this look because I love mixing brown leather and black leather, just as much as I love mixing silver and gold jewelry. Who says you can't? I also love my white Free People boots (that I plan to wear after labor day!!), they're very comfortable and are distressed for a more worn in look. I've been looking for a western-ish wide brim hat and I found one ON SALE at UO! I wear it all the time. Too bad the city was a little windy yesterday and my hat kept falling off! This secretary blouse is so fun--I love shirts with fun details like a bow instead of a collar, very retro. And if you haven't noticed my Marc bag hasn't left my side as I treat it like my baby. Hope you guys have a wonderful Tuesday!

Pockets too deep for 'em not to be stacked

I've been listening to Kehlani for the past two weeks straight. Y'all should definitely check her out. Anyhoo, I had the most wonderful day in the most wonderful place with the most wonderful people! I got to see my best friend and her cast-mates perform in Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare Santa Cruz (a fabulous production if any of you are in the Bay Area), where my overalls received lots of compliments! I've been itching for a pair, and I thought these were the perfect fit because you don't see black overalls every day. I have to admit, I traded in these adorable Brass Plum booties (Anniversary Sale--snatch these bad boys up NOW!) for my mom's Birkenstocks after these photos were taken, as I was going to be doing a lot of walking in a forest. BUT the 'Trott' booties are very comfortable, and I would gladly wear them all day long standing over six feet tall. Black-on-black looks are the best. They are so clean and chic, even in the summer! But don't fret, I have a VERY colorful look coming your way tomorrow.

Saturday night and we in the spot...

This is what I like to believe I would wear going out on a Saturday night. However, my Saturday night consisted of working late and then watching The Tonight Show with my mother and my beloved pup, Wilson. So we'll just pretend I went out and ate a delicious meal (not cereal) and went dancing until dawn or something cool. On her first day of work, my co-worker in my department at Nordstrom wore this Forever 21 dress (which I found this very morning in just my size--hallelujah) and ever since I've been determined to style it with a blue lip and a leather jacket. Thank goodness this BlankNYC jacket came in the mail yesterday! It's faux--but it looks like real leather, not anything near cheap pleather. It also still has the moto feel to it with fun zippers on the sides that go around to the back, but it is taken in to enhance our curves, ladies! Luckily the Anniversary Sale is up and running at Nordies and I splurged a bit (woops) on this Marc bag, and another pair of ear jackets. I've also been on the hunt for a good black sandal... and I found them! I love that these Steve Madden sandals have a wooden heel (I'm a sucker for wooden heels, I own a few too many shoes with them).  This is most definitely one of my favorite looks of the summer so far. And I definitely plan on outfit repeating if I do ever make interesting Saturday night plans.
